Crystal of the week: Turquoise

The crystal for this week is Turquoise! Turquoise is another stone that has holds many metaphysical properties that can help improve our lives. The Native Americans used it in many of their sacred and spiritual jewelry pieces they made. Turquoise forms when water combines with aluminum and copper, thus why it has a bluish color. It has always been known to be a protective stone. Back in the Renaissance, men were always wearing Turquoise to protect them from accidents and war.  Many cultures place Turquoise between carnelian or coral in jewelry pieces to represent the sky and earth.  It is said to help strengthen our organs, balance our bodies, enhance nutrition, while also helping to cool emotions, calm our thoughts and neutralize negativity. Turquoise is a great stone to wear when is feeling anxious, nervous or overwhelmed with things going on in their lives.

Fire Opal

The Opal of the day is Fire Opal, which I think os one of the most beautiful looking Opals. Fire Opal’s are great for those who are going through a hard time, or need some recovery time.  They are great for helping restore energy and bringing people back to life after an emotionally or physically rough time.

Cherry Opal

As you know the crystal of the week is opal, and with all the different types of Opals i’m also doing Opal of the day. Today’s Opal is Cherry Opal.  You can assume why Cherry Opal was given its name, but it also comes in orange. Cherry Opals are known for helping to regenerate tissue and blood. Many people who get into accidents or have surgery wear Cherry Opal’s to help speed up recovery. It is also known for increasing energy levels and lifting up moods.

Crystal of the week: Opal

The crystal of the week has been chosen, and the winner is Opal! Opal is one of my favorite stones.  I own many beautiful pieces, and love the variety of colors, shapes, and forms it comes in.  Opal is a very powerful stone, and is often considered un-lucky.  There is a myth that goes no one is allowed to buy themselves an Opal unless it is their birthstone, (October), it must be given as a gift.  Opal is also very delicate.  It is made up of many water molecules, so when exposed to extreme heat or cold, small fractures can occur. Opal comes in many forms, including, Cherry Opals, Boulder Opals, Dark Opals, Fire Opal, Tree Opals, Common Opal and several others.  All of these different forms offer different attributes and healing powers.  The Opal of the DAY will be Andean Opal’s, who help soothe emotions and difficulties, while also helping to solve relationship issues.

Crystal of the week: Kunzite

The crystal of the week is Kunzite, for it is symbolizes love, support, understanding and peace which goes along with Valentines Day and and relationships in general.  Kunzite comes in a variety of shades, but its most popular is a light pink or rose color.  However, Kunzite must be handled with care, for direct sunlight fades the color and turns it translucent. Many people give a loved one a piece of Kunzite for it is known to strengthen the heart and connect those to universal love, while also helping to ease aggression and resolve conflicts. Kunzite is also known to help cardiovascular health and enhance self- esteem.

Energy Boosters

There are always those days where we lack the energetic drive we need to get through are day, and today is one of those days for me.  Coffee may seem like an obvious choice to help boost energy, but personally coffee can make me sick to my stomach, or so jittery and wired that I can’t even begin to focus my energy into one place. Luckily, there are many stones out there which can help boost energy and productivity without making us feel like a sick hyped-up maniac.  The list includes; Jet, Smokey Quartz, Tiger’s Eye, Garnet, Jasper, Amber and even Gold.  All of these stones are commonly used in jewelry, which makes it them more accessible. It is also great that Gold that gold is on the list for men out there who may feel a bit odd wearing jewelry.  My favorites from that list are, Tiger’s Eye, Jasper and Amber.  I wear my Amber ring everyday not only cause I love the look of it, but because I can sense the energy it can give me in times of need. Above I posted pictures of the stones in the ordered they were listed. So remember, next time you have a big day ahead of you or are just feeling a bit un-enthused, grab one of your energy boosting stones or pieces of jewelry and feel your energy levels rise!!

*One quick thing, many of these stones come in different colors as well, especially Garnet and Jasper!
